THE LAST NEGATIVE

Hand-developed in the darkroom. Limited.

A photograph can be met the way you meet a person. Not in a glance, but in slow recognition. The hour when something unfamiliar becomes intimate. The detail you only notice the third time you look. Each print in this series is made for that kind of attention — singular, hand-developed, never reprinted.

When the work is finished, I cut the original negative diagonally. One half stays with me. The other goes with the print to the person who will live with it now. This is the only way I know to give something completely — without holding a copy back, without leaving a door open.

I offer these images the way I offer myself to someone worth knowing: all the way through.

Hand-developed in the darkroom. Limited.

Each print exists only for images originally captured on film — shot with a Hasselblad 500 C/M on 6×6 cm medium format negatives, hand-developed by the artist in the darkroom from the original negative. Black-and-white works are printed on silver gelatin paper, selenium-toned for archival permanence. Color works are hand-printed as analog C-type, processed in chromogenic chemistry.

There is no edition. There is no reprint. Every darkroom print is unrepeatable — delivered with a Certificate of Authenticity.

Each print is accompanied by the original negative — cut diagonally. The square divides into two triangles. One half travels with the print to the collector. The other half remains in the artist’s archive. The two pieces will never meet again.
