Sokołówka, August 1899. My great-great-grandfather in the drawing room. Above him, a wall of everyone they wanted to keep — Belina-Brzozowscy, Trzeciescy, Potoccy, Zamoyscy, Czartoryscy — the aristocratic families of Polish lands. A portrait was a form of persistence. An object with the ambition to outlast the person it depicted.

VITA BREVIS

Archival pigment editions on fine art paper.

Life is short — the print endures. Each print is an archival pigment edition, produced at a partner laboratory on museum-grade paper — Hahnemühle Photo Rag Baryta or Ilford Galerie Prestige Gold Fibre Silk. Every print is signed and numbered by the artist on the verso, delivered with a numbered Certificate of Authenticity.

No more, no reprint, no exception. Each edition is a closed circle — once complete, never reopened. Prices rise as the edition closes.

THE LAST NEGATIVE

Hand-developed in the darkroom. Limited.

Each print exists only for images originally captured on film, hand-developed by the artist in the darkroom from the original negative. Black-and-white works are printed on silver gelatin paper, selenium-toned for archival permanence. Color works are hand-printed as analog C-type, processed in chromogenic chemistry.

There is no edition. There is no reprint. Every darkroom print is unrepeatable — delivered with a Certificate of Authenticity.

Each print is accompanied by the original negative — cut diagonally. One half travels with the print to the collector. The other half remains in the artist’s archive. The two pieces will never meet again.

A separate body of work, distinct from the Giclée editions.

50 / 50 cm

  • 1/1 — €18 000Each work is hand-developed in its native process: silver gelatin from black-and-white negatives, hand-printed C-type from color negatives.

The Object

Every edition is produced at the partner laboratory — or, for silver gelatin works, hand-developed by the artist in the darkroom. Production time: 3–6 weeks.

Each print is signed and numbered by the artist on the verso, accompanied by a numbered Certificate of Authenticity, and produced on museum-grade materials: archival pigment editions on Hahnemühle Photo Rag Baryta or Ilford Galerie Prestige Gold Fibre Silk; silver gelatin prints on Ilford Multigrade FB Classic, fixed and selenium-toned for archival permanence.

Every print is personally inspected and signed before dispatch. Shipping is fully insured and climate-controlled. Direct hand delivery available within Europe upon request.

Once an edition is closed, it is never reopened. The image is not reproduced in that format on any other substrate, in any size variant, or in any commercial product.
